Remy is a 4-5 year old cropped and docked female, who has been with GCDR for a few months while she underwent heartworm treatment.  She's now ready to audition new families.  Remy was from North Louisiana, where she was inexplicably taken to her vet for euthanasia because her family was moving to another state and couldn't find a home for her. Thanks to the vet and his staff, she was legally surrendered to their care, who then reached out to us.  Hard to even imagine right?  

Remy has excellent house manners, and is friendly to people. As any good Doberman should be, she is protective of her home and alert to strangers. Once accepted inside by her foster family, Remy relaxes and demands attention and pets (also as any good Doberman will do).  Remy has lived with a male boxer before, but has not lived with another dog in a while. She may need to be slowly introduced to living with a new dog.  She also seems perfectly happy living as a single dog.  Remy's only hiccup is she has a bit of separation anxiety, but has improved remarkably in her foster home.  We feel she would do best in a home where there are not long stretches where she is alone.  

She is house-trained, crate trained, up-to-date on shots, microchipped and travels well.  She's pretty perfect.  Get your application in soon.

Zeus is a magnificent 2.5 yo, 90# doberman. He gets along great with other dogs, but would be perfectly happy as an only dog as well (he has not been tested with cats). He likes children, but he can play a little mouthy (his foster family is working on that). He loves being outside, and will stay all day if you let him. He let’s you know when he is ready to come inside (by jumping on the door, so also a work in progress). He knows sit and stay, and is working on stay to wait for his meal. He will gruff and talk to you when he wants to go outside or eat. He is curious and loves to investigate. He will definitely bark to let you know when someone is outside or knocking. He is kennel trained, and sleeps there at night. He is also quite happy to lounge on a couch or bed. He just needs an owner to continue his training. He is heartworm negative and on preventative. 

Loc has blossomed in his foster home after being pulled from a shelter. He has proven himself to be great at catch, and was quickly promoted to "trusted" status by his foster family because of his exceptional house manners. He is looking to capitalize on this experience by landing a family of his own. He is house and crate trained, knows basic obedience, is good with other dogs and great with puppies. 

Loc does have a high prey drive for small critters, so he is not compatible with cats. He would be fine with older children, but his natural exuberance (when not napping) would be too much for toddlers. Loc is about 2 years young and already has a story to tell. Loc is up-to-date on shots, neutered, microchipped and has been treatment by GCDR for heartworms He is kennel trained but also house trained . He is on the small side for a Doberman but there are a lot of great things packed in there. 

Dante has had a rough start to life. He spent the first 6 months of life on a chain, suffering a broken leg that was not treated until being dumped at an animal shelter. The shelter workers saw a great dog and get him to a vet. Dante's delays in treatment meant a longer road to recovery with complications. Luckily, he is coming along great, learning how to be a regular dog in his foster home, and soaking up all the attention and love he can get. Curious about all things, he knows how lucky he is. This beautiful affectionate boy is going to get the life he deserves. He will be available after his leg heals. He is learning house manners after life on a chain and significant time kenneled as he healed. He loves people and other dogs. A house without very small children would be best due to his excitement as he learns how to be a regular dog. Get your apps in now for when he is ready to go to his forever home!

2 year old Titan is looking for his forever home. Titan is healthy, crate trained and has lived with an professional trainer for a number of months working on Issues born out of his youth and exuberance that we felt would hinder him in a successful transition to a new home. We're proud of our boy who is now a year older, a year wiser, and has some professional training on his resume. Titan would do best in a home without small children. Interested? Meet two-year-old Toby. He is heartworm free, neutered and up-to-date on shots. He just moved into a new foster home, where he will be learning manners 101. He's an excellent car rider and loves people. Due to his age and excitement level, he would not be good for a children under teenage years. When he gets a chance to play, he gives it his all!
